Applications
We use TwinCAT both because of its real-time capability as a tool for test automation and because of its speed as a basis for the realization of fast measurement systems.
Using TwinCAT and Beckhoff hardware, we supplement NI compactRIO controllers with bus interfaces that are not available as standard, e.g. for IO-Link.
We use TwinCAT to implement fast real-time controls as well as applications for endurance tests. Thanks to its generic ADS interface, we connect TwinCAT to both NI DIAdem and NI LabVIEW. We realize the data exchange between TwinCAT on the one hand and DIAdem and LabVIEW on the other via the NI TDM data format.
In our applications, we combine user interfaces and evaluation solutions created in NI LabVIEW and NI DIAdem with TwinCAT.
We use a wide range of Beckhoff hardware, such as analog, digital and PWM input and output terminals, multimeter and incremental encoder terminals as well as measurement technology modules.
Fieldbuses – EtherCAT, Profinet, Profibus, CAN, IO-Link
We have many years of experience in connecting a wide range of hardware and software to TwinCAT via a wide variety of fieldbuses – and on a wide variety of platforms.
We connect TwinCAT’s own EtherCAT master with a wide variety of slaves (intelligent sensors, actuators, such as servo controllers and valve terminals) and with other masters via EtherCAT bridges. We communicate with pressure transmitters, mass flow meters and controllers, valve systems and much more via Bus Terminals, including for Profibus, CAN / CANopen and IO-Link.
Platforms
We develop solutions with TwinCAT 3 on PCs of various typs (such as the RXi2 series Industrial PCs from Emerson) as well as with TwinCAT 2 and 3 on the Embedded PCs of the CX series from Beckhoff.
